Puerto Rico '98

I arrived in San Juan, Puerto Rico and my first visit was to "Old San Juan", the area of the city that is half a millenium old and contains the old Spanish fort "El Morro". This fort stands at the entrance to San Juan and the old walled part of the city. The fort and the wall surrounding the old part of the city is made of stone that is 14-20 feet thick. Very solidly built... The fort has five levels and contains soldiers barracks for hundreds of soldiers and their supplies.


This is a shot out one of the many cannon-ports. Between the grating you can see one of the soldier turrets. The water is San Juan harbor.

Looks like a scene from Myst doesn't it?
